The moment of truth is fast approaching. After months of buildup and uncertainty, we’re hitting the home stretch and you can feel the excitement and tensison in the air.
That’s right – Nephcure Kidney International’s 20th Annual Countdown To A Cure is nearly upon us!
Just a little reminder that the virtual sessions for what is the IgAN Spark 2020 celebration begin Wednesday 7/8/2020 7:30 – 9:00 PM and will continue each Wednesday of the week through 9/2/2020.
As I’m posting this on 9/7, tomorrow’s presentation will be on the history of IgAN and I’m particularly looking forward to this. I’m hoping to learn some information I haven’t learned yet in some of the other presentations.
Here is a teaser video for the overall Spark event put together of course by the IgA Nephropathy Foundation of America.
It’s not easy to get new information regarding current research in IgA Nephropathy. So with that in mind, I wanted to give a heads up to everyone who wants to learn more about where things stand currently and where they may be headed when it comes IgAN treatment and research.

Looking for a way to make lives better during these weeks of isolation? Nephcure Kidney International has launched a new campaign #IStayHomeForNephcure. It’s simple to take part and it’s a great way to show support for your fellow patients and loved ones with Nephrotic Syndrome.
Nephcure Kidney International has recently announced the second annual Boston based fundraising gala Countdown To A Cure will be taking place on Saturday September 26, 2020 at 6:00 PM. The event will be held at the Boston Marriott Hotel in Quincy, Massachusetts.
I for one am looking forward to this event and meeting up with other patients and learn how they are coping with the various forms of kidney disease. This event will raise funds for Nephcure, which will in turn be used to help fund medical research that will eventually lead to real treatment options and hopefully keep more and more people from needing dialysis and/or transplants.
I hope to learn more about this event in the coming weeks and will pass on any relevant information as it comes along. Let us know if you plan on attending in the comment section!
‘Kidney Crossroads: The New Kidney Healthcare Initiative: What does this mean for you?‘, sponsored by Brigham and Women’s Hospital is coming to Somerville on Saturday March 14, 2020 beginning at 8:00 AM and running through 1:00 PM.
On Saturday June 22, 2020 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM a fundraiser will be held at SweetFrog Premium Frozen Yogurt in Marshfield, Ma. This is a benefit with 10% of all proceeds going to Nephcure Kidney International! If you’re from the Cape Cod or Greater Boston area, consider making the trip down to support the cause. I’m planning on making the trip myself and really, isn’t that reason enough to be there?
Seriously, the people at Nephcure do great work, so lets support efforts like this and help grow the cause!
The official flyer for the event is below. If I get any more information on this or other local events I’ll post it here and in the forum. Planning on going? Let us know!
